"Professional Discount" offers?

What does it mean when I get a "Professional Discount" offer? I just got one from details magazine and now i get a Professional rate for a 1 yr. subscription for only $8.00. Does anyone know if this is a good offer? Why do they even call it professional?

1. I get those all the time... I think they are come on. I was getting them when I was in college and not even working. Its just a rate they charge "professional" environments like dental offices or hospitals. iTs like their special rate. If you want to get good deals on magazines... try looking up magazine subscriptions on ebay. I get mine there and have never had a problem. Better then the professional rate for sure.
2. "Professional Discount" is just a marketing thing. $8 is a great rate though and I doubt that you'll find it cheaper anywhere else.
