Which horse magazine is worth the money? I want to get a subscription for a horse magazine but I cannot decide between horse and rider and your horse magazine. Which magazine do you think is worth getting? I do most forms of riding except racing and hunting! If their is any other magazine which you would recommend please tell, but I live in Portugal so it needs to be able to be sent to Portugal.

Magazine subscriptions about/for horses.? Okay, I live in Ontario, Canada. And I was wondering if anyone knows or is subscribed to FREE horse magazines. Something like Young Rider. Or anything that provides new/less experienced riders with information about horses, riding tack, feeding etc. Even one free subscription or a free online subscription to Canada would help. Or is someone is VERY VERY experienced with horses and could drop there email, or yahoo to serenityx666@hotmail.com or lejonet31@yahoo.ca The reason I'm asking is this summer I'm getting my community hours done at my Brothers - Fiancees - Unlces farm. :P And he has two large farm horses. Best Horse Magazine.....? My friend's b-day is coming up, (she'll be 16) and I was going to get her a horse magazine subscription. She is very serious about horses, and own 2 herself.. (one is a yearling, she's training it, or attempting to) and the other one is really stubborn and a little bit crazy.. (it's trained.. ish) I want to find a magazine that has a lot of helpful, (practical/doable) tips and tricks, not a magazine about [horse] celebrities or anything... just a really awesome practical horse magazine... She rides purely western I'm thinking Equus or Horse and Rider... which do you think is better for her? Like I said, she's 16, (or almost 16) needs practical tips, but nothing too dry.... I know nothing about this sort of thing so I need help!! Do any of you know a web site where there are reviews or summary's of Horse Magazines?

Does anyone else remember the magazine "Horse of Course"? In the mid to late 70's, I swear I had a subscription to a magazine called "Horse of Course" but can't find any mention of it anywhere on the web nor any back issues for sale on Ebay- do you remember it?

Horse/Equine magazines - which is worth the subscription? I haven't gotten magazines of any kind in a while, but decided that I would enjoy getting a horse magazine every month or so. I want one that deals with equine health, riding tips, tack reviews, and maybe some competitions. I prefer English and am just getting into eventing, so it would be great if the magazine told about eventing news. Any recommendations for magazines either to subscribe or avoid?

Barn Friends' Christmas Presents? I'm uncreative, and I'm looking for a good present for my two best barn buds for Christmas and/or their birthdays, which are in January. I was thinking about a horse magazine subscription, but that wouldn't be much of a surprise. (; One of my friends, Lisa, made all three of us personalized bracelets out of our horses' tail hair, so I can't do that. Lisa is really into Parelli, but all of their stuff is really, really expensive, and I'm trying to save up $2,000 for this horse I'm leasing and I only have $300, so I don't want to spend too terribly much. They have all the grooming supplies they could ever want, and more. (Well, Kris keeps using my mane and tail brush for some reason, but other than that...) I read another question like this, and someone said a crop, spur straps, a hoofpick, or treats. They don't use spurs or crops and they have hoofpicks and treats. (: That's all, I guess. Thanks very much for your help! About $40 maximum. Of course I'd happily go lower haha. (:

What magazine for a 10-year old horse-crazy girl? My friend's niece (10-12 years old) hopes to learn to ride. She lives 6 hours from me, so I can't put her on a horse, but I'd like to encourage the interest & start educating the parents by sending them a subscription (they think they'll buy a horse when she's 14). Practical Horseman & Equus are obviously over their heads. What else is there? These are not rich people; I grew up in Pony Club, hunter-jumpers but maybe they'll wind up with a western discipline (I have no idea of the scene in their area); the only thing I would discourage is totally trainer-based showing. I will push them to learn, I will scream at them to engage safe horsemen to teach them what's what, but in the meantime I hope only to encourage the little girl's interest. What are the magazines the horsey girls in your life enjoy?

What shouuld I ask for my b-day? So lately my mom and gram have been asking me what I want for my b-day. Its on May 19. I will be turning 16. :) I have an i pod and I am not into any of those type of things anyways. I wont be getting a car (my family would never be able to afford one.) My mom spends about $150 and my gram spends $100, my aunt spends about $50 and my other aunt spends about $25. My friend is amazing at barrel racing, he is 15 and he has gotten grand champion for the last 3 years of showing. We have been looking for mens barrel racing t-shirts. Pony USA Magazine?? I want to be a trainer...? Are there any good magazine's I could get that focus around training horses? I'm also interested in equine massage/medicine, so anything that has good medical articles would also be cool. I already have a subscription to Horse & Rider, and I've had horse illustrated, but didn't much care for it. Thanks :] Probably should've mentioned this earlier, I would like to do mainly western and natural horsemanship (such as parelli, or monty roberts) but I'm not opposed to learning about English as well

..........EBONY = Racist..........? I just read through a couple "Ebony" magazines. Those contributors have such racist articles and such diminutive tones in them. My subscription to the NRA magazine is isn't even like that! Disgusting! Why do black people believe that they still need to be "noticed". Yeah, we get it, you're free and we're happy. Get off your high horse and stop acting like your special. What is up with you people?
